Celebrate British Knitting and Wool Week

Local Knitting News

This week is known to most knitters as Wool Week, where I have taken great notice in lots of great wool campaigning and supporting.

First up is the Picknit campaign/celebration which if you are currently a visiting knitter or local to the surrounding area of Wakefield or Leeds there is a Picknit gathering at Wakefield’s very own Woolnstuff located on Charlotte Street. The event will be going  down on this Saturday from 10am. Keep an ear out for local Picknit!

Next up is still a local event and news bulletin. If you are in Leeds this week pop by the Victoria Quarter in the city centre for a Wool exhibition celebrating the thriving Yorkshire textile industry. Jennifier Nickson from a Bradford based textile business has been working side by side with ‘Leeds College of Art’ students to create designs for the exhibition. It’s available to be seen from today Monday the 14th to Sunday the 20th of October.

I hope these will be of interest to some of you! x
